I'm Tyler Yong —
designer, marketer, and builder.
I create digital experiences that balance visual craft, usability, and business thinking — working at the intersection of research, interaction, and visual storytelling to build quiet systems for messy human problems.
Here's the throughline — from graphic design roots to running a storefront, one stage at a time.
Step 1: Where I started
I'm a Brooklyn-born designer with a graphic design background and years of creative experience, studying Marketing Management with a minor in Arts at CUNY Baruch College.
Step 2: What I learned
Baruch taught me the business and marketing side of design — how positioning, messaging, and conversion actually work, not just how a layout looks.
Step 3: Moving into UX/UI
Springboard's UX/UI Design Career Track sharpened that into a repeatable process — research, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and human-centered design.
Step 4: Where I am now
I work freelance across web design, product design, graphic design, and digital marketing — usually for people who need both the design and the strategy behind it handled by the same person.
Step 5: Business experience
I own and operate a Kung Fu Tea location in Downtown Brooklyn. Running a physical storefront gave me first-hand experience with customers, branding, promotions, operations, and marketing — and it shows up in how practically I think about every design decision.
